Loose supply,
dispensed by volume.
Loose DEF is dispensed by volume into an approved, clean container dedicated to DEF. Confirm collection availability, quantity and batch documentation before travelling.
Agree the arrangement
Tell us your location, monthly volume and what you will be filling into. We confirm whether loose supply is the right fit or whether packed fluid still suits you better.
Container check
The vessel is inspected before dispensing. DEF is intolerant of residue from diesel, coolant, detergents and general workshop use, so a container that has held anything else is not accepted.
Dispense
Filled through equipment kept exclusively for DEF, from a tested batch, with the quantity and batch recorded against your account.
Documentation
The batch reference travels with the invoice, so you can request the certificate for that fluid exactly as you would for a sealed pack.
Loose supply works well when
- You already run a DEF-dedicated tank, tote or returnable container.
- Your consumption is steady enough that stock turns over well inside shelf life.
- Drum handling and disposal have become a real cost or a housekeeping problem.
- You are close enough to a PROTICKS facility or filling point for collection to make sense.
Stay with sealed packs if
- The only containers available have held other fluids. No saving is worth a contaminated SCR system.
- Your storage is outdoors, unshaded, or shared with workshop chemicals.
- Consumption is irregular and stock would sit for months between uses.
Bulk tanker,
delivered to your tank.
For operations consuming at a scale where totes have become a logistics exercise in themselves. Product is loaded into dedicated DEF transport and discharged into storage on your site against an agreed schedule.
Scheduled delivery
Delivery quantities and dates are agreed for your location and storage capacity.
- Planned schedule with an agreed quantity
- One point of contact for the account
- Delivery documentation per drop
Dedicated handling
DEF is transported and discharged through equipment used for DEF alone. Nothing that has carried diesel, lubricant or any other product goes near it.
- Dedicated transfer equipment
- Discharge point agreed before first delivery
- Site access and timing confirmed in advance
Batch documentation
Request the batch reference and quality documentation for each bulk delivery.
- Tested to ISO 22241 and IS 17042 limits
- Batch reference issued per delivery
- Certificate available on request
What your site needs to have ready.
Confirm tank compatibility, dedicated transfer equipment, storage conditions and tanker access before arranging a delivery.
- A DEF-compatible tank. Suitable grades of stainless steel and certain plastics are fine. Carbon steel, copper, brass, zinc-coated and aluminium surfaces are not: they contaminate the fluid.
- Dedicated pumps, hoses and couplings. Used for DEF and nothing else, ever, including during maintenance.
- Shade and ventilation. Sustained heat and direct sunlight shorten usable life. Sheltered storage between −6 °C and 30 °C where practical.
- A sealed fill point. Kept closed between deliveries, with dust and rain kept out of the tank.
- Clear tanker access. Approach, turning and a discharge position agreed before the first delivery rather than on the day.
- Someone who signs for it. A named person to receive the delivery documentation and keep the batch reference with your records.
