Volume bars use a logarithmic scale so a 5L pack stays legible beside a 1000L IBC. They compare capacity, not price.
Choose by consumption and storage capacity.
DEF has a shelf life and it does not like heat, sunlight or dirty transfer equipment. The right pack is the one you finish while it is still in good condition.
Buy what you will finish
Choose quantities you can use within the shelf life stated on the product label. Storage conditions and handling affect product quality.
Keep the transfer path dedicated
Use pumps, funnels and hoses dedicated to DEF. Residues from other fluids can contaminate the product and damage the SCR system.
Store sealed and shaded
Between −6 °C and 30 °C where practical, out of direct sun, ventilated and closed between uses.
Mixed formats are fine
An IBC at the depot and 20L buckets in the vehicles is a normal arrangement. It is the same fluid either way.
Keep the batch code
Record the code printed on each pack. It is what lets the quality team issue the certificate for exactly that fluid.
Past the IBC
If you are taking several totes a month, loose supply or a tanker delivery is usually the better arrangement.

ISO 22241 and IS 17042 AUS32
32.5 percent technical grade urea in deionised water, with no additives, which is what the standard requires. Use only where your vehicle or equipment manufacturer specifies AUS32.

Formulated on request
For stop-start fleets and part-load gensets where exhaust temperature stays low. Supplied in packs labelled Anti-Crystal so it is never confused with the standard product. Confirm suitability with your vehicle manufacturer before using an additised fluid under warranty.
